Pembina Hills Arts Council - Shibori Workshop

Instructor Tamara Klassen will walk participants through the basics of Shibori, an ancient Japanese method that uses a variety of folding and binding techniques before a piece of cloth is then immersed in Indigo dye.  The results are interesting and sometimes unexpected, but always beautiful.

WAG MakerLab - Shibori Fabric Dyeing 2ND CLASS ADDED

In this workshop, you will learn the art of Shibori, an ancient Japanese method of resist dyeing.  We will cover a variety of Shibori techniques of folding and binding cloth to create different patterns, as well as learn how to set up and dye with an indigo vat. You will go home with three 100% cotton 27” square finished textiles and the skills to dye many more pieces on your own.  These pieces would be suitable for tea towels, wall art, bandanas, pillows, and more! All supplies provided.Wear clothing you don’t mind getting dye on.

$80 single ticket/$75 for WAG members or two or more tickets
